This shelf is only for cabins we've actually stayed in. Each card has the basics, taken from the listing so you can check them against the current version, plus the dates we stayed and a link to the real listing so you can see current dates and pricing yourself. Our own notes and photos are on the way.

Ask us a questionTraveling with Charlotte

Charlotte is our corgi: fearless, somewhat lazy and festively plump. She comes along on our trips, so pet policies are one of the first things we check on every listing. A few things we look for when a dog is coming:
- The exact pet rule. "Pet-friendly" can mean one dog or two, a weight limit, no cats, or an extra fee. The three cabins above all have different rules.
- A fenced yard, if you want somewhere to let your dog out without a leash.
- Stairs and decks. Mountain cabins are often built on slopes with several levels and high decks, which is worth knowing if your dog has short legs or an older back.
- House rules about furniture, crates and leaving dogs alone in the cabin.
- The basics from home: leash, bowls, food, a familiar bed or blanket, and towels for muddy paws. See our cabin packing list.
